The front man of the well-known alt country band Jason & The Scorchers, Jason Ringenberg, has an alter ego who drives tractors, plays guitar to his chickens, and sings about his hogs. Ringenberg's album of kid-friendly ditties is a cut above the usual sing-song pre-K fodder, with songs about his tractor, lambs, and horses performed with an authentically twanging band whose influences seem to swing between country rock and the GREEN ACRES theme.
